Iron Horse Course in Midway

This is a beautiful, rolling course on open roads with little traffic. The course is very easy to navigate. Any distance – from 2 miles to 20! – is easy to navigate. And it is worth the trip just to have breakfast at the Midway School Bakery after. You can find parking and route information here.

Sunday, May 19

My alter-ego (the RRCA Certified Coach Krissie) will be leading two different 5K training programs, one for total running newbies and another for those of you who want to improve your pace. The goal race for both groups is the MidSummer Night’s Run 5K. Click here for training info and to register if you are interested. You can email me at krissie@committedcoaching.com with any questions.

Please come back and confirm details of the event the day before you meet with us.

Well for some reason I can’t access the google doc anymore. But I plan on being at both runs on Sunday, hopefully bringing a few friends to the Couch to 5K kickoff.

  2. Cindy Tilmans says:

Sounds like a great group! I’d like to join in the 1/2 training. What is your starting mileage? Are you running in the Hamburg/Brighton area for this one too?

  3. Deana Brashear says:

Need info on next run/training. Thanks

  4. Belle says:

I’m new to running and excited to join you all this coming Sunday!

  5. Joanna Hall says:

Oh of COURSE you guys are going through Midway while I’m out of town. I was really looking forward to walking to the meetup instead of driving 25 min ;) Oh well, enjoy it and be sure to check out some of the local shops while you are there. Now that my stomach virus is officially gone I’ll plan on joining the resolution runners on Sunday as much as I can, and get back to the long runs as well. See you all Wednesday.

  6. Brooke says:

I tried to update the google doc to say I’d be at Resolution Runners – but I can’t. I’ll be there. I’m on twitter @brookem225

  7. Jo Geddes says:

I am interested in joining your running group. I am currently training for the Nashville mini in April. I am in week four of my training. I am going to try to make in on Saturday in Midway.

  8. Vicki Voisard says:

I’m in week 7 of my 12 wk 1/2 marathon training for April 28 @ Louisville – Derby mini/marathon. I wish I was closer to Lexington so I could join in the group runs more often. I’m excited about my 1st half marathon – solo training is bearable with my favorite music as I go down the hwy.

  9. Amy Chappell says:

I plan on starting the c25k series. Been wanting to do this for a long time! So excited to find this!

  10. Miriam Hunter says:

I will be there May 13th for the C25K.

  11. Jennifer Collins says:

I am really excited about getting started on Sunday, running has always been something that I have wanted to get into:)

  12. Jeanine says:

I am REALLY excited as well to start the “Couch to 5K”. I will be out of town on May 13th but I’ll be ready for the next Sunday!

  13. Debra Shockley says:

    Krissie,
I am a re-started runner, get your e-mails, have not been able to run with your group yet, and live in Midway. I’m a member of the Midway Woman’s Club. You all run past our clubhouse at the corner of Stephens and Gratz on your way out Stephens toward Weisenberger Mill. I was wondering if the group would like access to the clubhouse prior to the Iron Horse start? Heat, indoor plumbing, coffee, could leave items till afterwards, etc. I would be availble to pick up discarded clothing, etc, as group members run by on their way out Spring Station! E-mail, or call me if that would help you all pre-race, during the race, and post race?

  14. Hi, my name is Devra. I run on my own pretty frequently and started looking for running clubs in the area to find some community. I was wondering if there is any sort of fee or process to go through to become a member of this one.
