Cold doesn’t stop us!

We are pretty hard core, friends! Saturday we met at the Golf Club of the Bluegrass and ran on the Harrodsburg Road Trail. It was 15* with a windchill of 6*. SIX! Distances ran varied from 3 miles to 12 miles. It was a beautiful day to be out running with friends.

Sunday started another round of Resolution Runners behind Hamburg Liquor Barn. We had 15 ladies starting Couch to 5K, in addition to those on Week 3 and other run/walkers. It was a lot warmer than Saturday but the trail was slicker. Imagine that.

What’s on tap for this weekend, you ask?

Saturday January 21:

8am – Strength and Conditioning Clinic at the High Street YMCA. This clinic is for us and is free. I am excited!

9am – (after the clinic) Group run from the YMCA! I’ll have a few routes mapped out and posted later in the week. 2 miles and 4 miles be okay? If you need longer, let me know.

You can do the clinic or the run or both. (Hopefully both!)

Sunday January 22:

4pm – Resolution Runners (and anyone who wants to come) at the Arboretum.

I hope to see you this weekend!

Group Runs: Weekend of January 14

EDIT FOR SPRING: In the past, we have met at the Golf Course. Because of the season, we will meet at Southland Christian Church in the most southern end of the parking lot. The first mile or so will be on Harrodsburg Road. I have ran this before and it is safe (I don’t say that lightly). The shoulder is very wide.

The route is out and back. It is about 6.5 miles from the church to the end of the trail at the Wilmore split.

We’ll be meeting at the Harrodsburg Road Trail. The best place for us to meet is the Golf Club of the Bluegrass. (Map here.) You will turn off Harrodsburg onto Barbaro (turning right if coming from Lexington). You really can’t miss the clubhouse. Here’s me and Caroline from Florida on New Year’s Eve.

I’m not posting any maps of the course because it is easy. If you go left, you run out of trail in about a mile. If you go right, you run out of trail in about 4.5 miles. That’s really all you need to know. You can run as little or as long as you want.I really hope you come out!

If you have any questions the morning of the run, the best way to get in touch with me is to tweet me at @LexRunLadies.
