Guilherme Paulus is a Brazilian born entrepreneurial success. The internationally known businessman has recently made it into the billionaire club. Guilherme now has a net worth of over 1.1 billion dollars. His financial success is due to his remarkable entrepreneurial achievements and his ability to persevere through some of the most challenging business obstacles.
Guilherme is now 68 years, has almost 50 years of experience in the tourist industry, and founded his first company in 1972. He has an educational background in business administration. Guilherme Paulus is also regarded as one of the best businessmen in Brazil.
Guilherme Paulus first began his journey when he started working with IBM. He originally wanted to become a doctor, but his family did not have the financial capacity to support his educational aspirations. Guilherme had been working with IBM for a little over two years when he realized that he was tired of all of the numbers and calculations. His salvation from the monotonous work came in the form of an ad in the local newspaper. The company that placed the ad was Casa Faro, and they were looking to hire a salesman. Guilherme accepted the challenging job and began to work for Casa Faro.
Guilherme met with Carlos Vicente Cerchiari while working on a ship trip. Carlos was a politician at the time and he was fond of the bingo games and other forms in which Guilherme was able to entertain the customers. Carlos offered Guilherme a partnership for the two to found their own company. Guilherme would be 33 percent owner and pay to get in to the venture through the work that he was already doing. The two entrepreneurs founded the CVC travel agency in 1972. Four years after the founding of the CVC, Carlos left the venture and sold his shares in the company to Guilherme.
Guilherme Paulus thought about closing down the CVC at one point because of the adversities he was facing in the market. At the time, the Federal Government had created a compulsory tax that forced businesses to leave a deposit withheld for a year. Guilherme was able to overcome all of the challenges and turn the CVC into the largest tourist operator in Latin America.
